The Ndutu area is located in the north western sector of the Ngorongoro conservation area. The plains cover an area of over 8000 square Kilometers. The plains run all the way from the Ngorongoro crater to the Serengeti national park. The calving of the wildebeests takes place here in the months of December, January, February and March.
