Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

We will pick you up from Arusha and drive off to Lake Manyara National Park. Your first stop on this 7-day Tanzania wildlife safari. The park is famously known for its tree climbing lions, so be on the look out for them when out on the game drive among other animals like zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions, leopards, gazelles and different birds like flamingos which are always found at the shoreline of the beautiful Lake Manyara with other birds like pelicans and herons. At the end of the day, retire to your safari lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2-3: Explore the plains of Serengeti National Park

Early breakfast at your safari lodge in Lake Manyara and one more game drive before you make your transfer to Serengeti national park. A world heritage site famed for the thrilling annual great wildlife migration where millions of ungulates pound the vast Serengeti open grasslands plains as they trek following the rains in search of greener pastures. Even when millions of wildebeests are not on the move, the Serengeti still offers amazing game viewing experiences because it teems with a rich diverse wildlife. A game drive in the heart of the Serengeti, in the Seronera region is always rewarding. Well known for its yearly resident wildlife and high chances of spotting the lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards and the rare endangered black rhino in the kopjes (Big FIVE) among other animals and bird species.

Day 4: Game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater

Exit the Serengeti plains for Ngorongoro conservation area early in the morning. This day we explore another UNESCO world heritage site, the Ngorongoro crater, the main highlight of a visit to the conservation area.

This unbroken caldera is home to over 25,000 animals among these is a dense population of predators, the largest anywhere. You will descend into the crater for a game drive in search of the resident animals of the crater which include zebras, elephants, jackals, rhinos, lions, hippos, antelopes, warthogs, leopards, buffalos and various species of birds like flamingoes. You will also have a game drive out of the crater for there is still lots to set your eyes on.

Day 5: Lake Eyasi Tour

We drive to the Southwest of Ngorongoro conservation area for a full day tour. The beautiful Lake Eyasi located in the Eastern arm of the great rift valley. The unique ecosystem and high levels of minerals in Lake Eyasi supports animals like giraffes…. Zebras, elephants, antelopes and birds like pelicans, flamingoes, weavers and more.

Let us throw in some cultural experiences in your wildlife adventure. The Datoga (agro-pastrolists) and Hadzabe (hunters and gatherers) people inhabit the areas around Lake Eyasi. We shall visit the 2 indigenous tribes. Get to know more about their traditional customs, practices and remote ways of living.

Day 6: Explore Tarangire National Park

We transfer to Tarangire national park, known for its large herds of elephants and the fascinating ancient baobab trees. Spend the whole day exploring the parks different habitats with a drive to Tarangire River. This is the only source of water for the animals that inhabit the park.

Day 7: Back to Arusha – Departure Flight

Last morning game drive of the 7-day Wildlife & Cultural Tour. Then a transfer back to Arusha to your hotel or to the airport.
