Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
Your tour guide will pick you up from the airport and drive you to your accommodation in Arusha city where you will spend your first night in Tanzania as you prepare for the adventure in the coming days.
Day 2-3: Explore Serengeti National Park
Depart Arusha for Serengeti national park. You will spend these 2 days in the world-famous Serengeti national park. Explore its vast open lands for a game viewing adventure like no other. A diverse wildlife awaits you among which ae guaranteed sightings of the big cats; lion, leopard and cheetahs, elephants, wildebeests, zebras, elephants, hippos, buffalos, giraffes, gazelles and much more with beautiful bid sightings for the bird lovers as the park is home to over 500 different species.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater drive to Arusha / Moshi
Early morning descent into the crater for a 5-hour game drive experience in the picturesque natural wonder of the world. Ngorongoro crater is a world heritage site as it is the largest unspoiled caldera in the world hosting over 25,000 animals and over 400 bird species.
Later exit the conservation area and drive to Arusha / Moshi where you will spend the night. Relax as you prepare to conquer Africa’s tallest mountain.
Day 5-11: Kilimanjaro Mountain Climbing
For these 7 days, you will be climbing the tallest mountain on the African continent. Several routes get you to the summit of the mountain, Uhuru peak. For this 12-day safari we recommend these routes; Machame route (the most popular route) approaches the mountain from the South and or Lemosho route (the most beautiful route) approaches the mountain from the West.
As you climb the Kilimanjaro, enjoy the changing scenic views with every change in elevation as you pass through different climatic zones. Accommodation is in tents that are set up at the different camps. Savor the moment when you make it to Uhuru peak. Enjoy the beautiful sunrise from the top of Africa. Prepare to descend the mountain via the Mweka route, a descent only route. Will take you about 6 hours to the Mweka camp where you will spend the night on day 11.
Day 12: Mweka Gate to Arusha
After your breakfast at Mweka camp, you will embark on a final descend to Mweka Gate also the Kilimanjaro national Park gate. The descend will take you up to 3 hours. Welcome back from the summit. Your safari guide will be waiting to drive you to Arusha. End of safari.
