Coastal Aviation Tanzania Safari Flights

Coastal Aviation is a well known domestic and regional airline based in Dar es Salaam. The airline operates from Julius Nyerere International Airport, mainly from Terminal One. Coastal Aviation employs over 300 staff members and focuses strongly on passenger safety. As a domestic airline, all its flights are managed in line with international aviation standards.

All Coastal Aviation crew members are well trained and hold the required certifications. Every flight is operated by two pilots, no matter how short the route is. This approach ensures safety by having backup at all times and allows shared responsibility in flight operations. Safety procedures are followed carefully on every flight.

Coastal Aviation was the first charter airline to operate in Tanzania. Over the years, it has built a strong reputation in safari aviation. The airline offers scenic flights, medical evacuation flights, and scheduled public flights. Most scheduled flights operate between Dar es Salaam and Arusha, which is the main gateway to northern Tanzania safari destinations.

Today, Coastal Aviation flies to more than 40 destinations across the region. These include locations within Tanzania, Kenya, and Rwanda. The airline has grown from operating a single aircraft on domestic routes to serving many destinations across East Africa.

Private Flights with Coastal Aviation

Private flights are becoming more popular, especially among travelers who want flexibility and comfort. Coastal Aviation allows clients to book private flights to many destinations in Tanzania, including Mount Kilimanjaro, Serengeti National Park, and other remote safari areas. The airline also operates private flights to places such as the Okavango Delta, Laikipia in Kenya, and selected destinations in Uganda.

Private flights help travelers avoid long road transfers and save time. They also remove the need for multiple stopovers during a safari itinerary. In recent months, Coastal Aviation has supported clients traveling to areas like the southern Serengeti during the calving season.

Mandatory Lodge Information

Passengers are advised to share their accommodation details when booking flights. This helps the airline plan flight times that match lodge check in and check out schedules. Coastal Aviation can also coordinate directly with lodges in case of flight changes.

Fuel Surcharge & Fare Updates

Due to rising fuel costs, flight prices have increased. For the 2024 to 2026 seasons, there is a 5 percent fuel surcharge and an additional 4 percent fare increase. These changes mainly affect private flight services.
