Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Your driver guide will pick you up from your hotel or the airport in Arusha after breakfast. You will drive toward Ngorongoro through the northern safari route. Along the way, you will see views of the Rift Valley, the edge of Lake Manyara National Park, and farms around Karatu.
You will arrive in time for lunch and check in at your lodge or camp. After lunch, you will go for an afternoon game drive inside the conservation area. You will stop at a crater viewpoint to look down at the wide crater floor and take photos. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge or camp.
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive and Transfer Back to Arusha
You will start early with breakfast before sunrise. Then you will drive to the crater rim and descend about 600 meters to the crater floor for a full game drive. The crater holds many animals and birds throughout the year.
You may see the African Big Five, which include lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and the endangered black rhino. Other animals often seen are elands, wildebeests, hippos, zebras, kudus, waterbucks, cheetahs, wild dogs, and serval cats. Birdlife includes lesser flamingos, hornbills, and turacos.
You will stop for a picnic lunch near the hippo pool. Later, you will drive up to the crater rim and continue back to Arusha for drop off at your hotel or the airport.
