Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Airport to Moshi
On arrival in Tanzania, your tour guide will meet you at the airport and drive you to Moshi town. Moshi is located at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. This day is for rest and final preparation for the mountain climb. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 2 to Day 9: Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro
Mount Kilimanjaro stands at 5,895 meters above sea level, with Uhuru Peak as the highest point. It is the tallest free standing mountain in Africa. There are seven official routes used to climb the mountain. These include Lemosho, Machame, Marangu, Umbwe, Rongai, Northern Circuit, and Shira routes.
For this tour, the recommended routes are Lemosho, Machame, or the Northern Circuit. These routes allow better acclimatization and higher summit success rates. During the climb, you will pass through different vegetation zones, from forest to alpine areas.
You will be supported by professional mountain guides, porters, and cooks. Accommodation during the climb is in mountain tents at designated camps. Reaching Uhuru Peak is the main goal of this part of the journey. After descending from the mountain, you will be transferred to Arusha for a well deserved rest and overnight.
Day 10: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast in Arusha, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park. On arrival, you will go for a game drive inside the park.
Lake Manyara is known for tree climbing lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalos, hippos, and many bird species. The lake itself attracts large numbers of flamingos and other water birds. Dinner and overnight near the park.
Day 11 to Day 13: Serengeti National Park Wildlife Exploration
You will depart Lake Manyara and continue to Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is the most famous park in Tanzania and is known for wide open plains and large wildlife numbers.
Game drives will be done in different areas of the park, including the Seronera region, which has animals throughout the year. You may see lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, zebras, wildebeests, cheetahs, and many bird species. Each evening, you will return to your safari camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 14: Explore Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, you will drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will explore areas around the crater rim, Lake Ndutu, and regions west of the Gol Mountains.
Ngorongoro is home to over 25,000 animals and more than 500 bird species. The views from the crater rim allow you to see the vast caldera and its wildlife below. Dinner and overnight in the Ngorongoro area.
Day 15: Departure & End of Safari
After breakfast, you will drive out of the conservation area with chances for last wildlife sightings along the way. You will then be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
