Detailed Safari Itinerary

15 Days Gorilla Trekking & Wildebeest Migration Tour

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda

On arrival at Entebbe international airport, your safari guide will pick you up and drive you to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala for a restful night as you prepare for the thrilling adventures in the next days.

Day 2: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

The route to Southwestern Uganda is a scenic one with beautiful rolling hills, road side villages and markets. You will have a brief stop at the Equator line for some interesting facts and experiments. Hit the road again arriving Bwindi in the evening. Check in at your accommodation, freshen up, have dinner and sign out for the day.

Day 3: Mountain Gorilla Trekking

On this day, you are going to embark on a thrilling gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi impenetrable forest. It is a world heritage site because it is home to the biggest population of the mountain gorillas in the world. After a briefing at the park’s headquarters, you will enter the impenetrable forest to track down a gorilla family. You will be given an hour once you find the gorillas to marvel at the gentle giants and learn more about their behaviors.

Head back for lunch at your accommodation and alter if you opt too, you could go on a village visit for a cultural encounter. Overnight at your accommodation.

Day 4: Flight to Arusha in Tanzania

On to the next destination country on your 7-day safari. You can either drive back to Entebbe or charter a jet at the airstrip to Entebbe to catch your flight to Tanzania.

Upon arrival, your Tanzanian safari guide will pick you up and drive you to your accommodation in Arusha where you will spend the night.

Day 5: Transfer to Serengeti National Park

Drive to the most visited park in Northern Tanzania, Serengeti National Park. You will arrive in the park in the late afternoon, check in at your accommodation, have lunch and then head out for a night game drive in this wildlife densely populated park, offering great wildlife viewing opportunities. Back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Game drives in Serengeti and transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Have breakfast and pack some food for a picnic lunch out in the wilderness, you are having a full day exploring the open vast plains of Serengeti starting with a morning game drive in the central part of Serengeti, the Seronera region which teems with wildlife. Look out for the big 5; elephants, black rhino, buffalo, leopards and lions among others. After lunch and some relaxation, drive to another area of Serengeti for chances of spotting more animals and birds.

If you happen to be in the park during the migration season, you might get a chance to watch millions of wildebeests and other hooved animals on the move escorted by the predators. After your game drive, proceed to Ngorongoro conservation area to your accommodation for a relaxing evening and a restful night.

Day 7: Crater game drive and departure to Arusha

Pre sunrise game drive in Ngorongoro crater, a world heritage site for it is the largest unbroken caldera in the world, hosting over 25,000 animals and over 500 different species of birds. Descend to the crater floor for an adventurous 5 hours of game viewing. Expect to come across the Big five, different bird species, scenic landscapes and crater lakes. Ascend back to the crater rim and drive back to your accommodation for a quick lunch and check out. Then drive to Arusha for a drop off at the airport.
