Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Uganda
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your safari guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala. This day is meant for rest after your flight. You will receive a short briefing about the safari and the activities planned for the coming days. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 2: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, you will begin your drive to southwestern Uganda. The journey passes through countryside areas, small towns, and roadside markets. You will stop at the Equator for photos and short explanations about the Equator line. After lunch along the way, continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will arrive in the evening, check in at your lodge, have dinner, and rest.
Day 3: Mountain Gorilla Trekking
This is the main highlight of your time in Uganda. After an early breakfast, you will go to the park headquarters for a briefing by the rangers. You will then enter the forest with a guide to track a gorilla family. The walk can take some time depending on the location of the gorillas.
Once you find the gorillas, you will spend one hour with them. During this time, you will watch their behavior, feeding, and interaction within the group. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you may choose to relax or visit a nearby community for a short cultural visit. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 4: Flight to Arusha in Tanzania
After breakfast, you will transfer back to Entebbe by road or take a domestic flight from a nearby airstrip. From Entebbe, you will board a flight to Arusha in Tanzania. On arrival, your Tanzanian safari guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. Dinner and overnight in Arusha.
Day 5: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to Serengeti National Park. The journey takes you through the Ngorongoro highlands and into the Serengeti plains. You will enter the park in the afternoon, check in at your lodge or camp, have lunch, and then go for an afternoon game drive.
During the game drive, you may see wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions, and other wildlife common in the Serengeti. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Game Drives in Serengeti and Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, you will head out for a morning game drive in the central Serengeti, especially the Seronera area, which has many animals throughout the year. You will look out for lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, and many other animals. A picnic lunch will be taken inside the park.
After lunch, continue with another short game drive as you exit Serengeti and drive toward Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at your lodge near the crater rim in the evening. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive and Departure to Arusha
Very early in the morning, after breakfast, you will descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. The crater floor is home to a large number of animals, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, zebras, wildebeests, and the rare black rhino. Many bird species are also found around the crater lakes and grasslands.
After about five hours of game viewing, you will ascend from the crater, return to your lodge for lunch, check out, and then drive back to Arusha. Drop off will be at your hotel or at the airport, marking the end of the 7 Days Bwindi Gorillas and Serengeti Wildlife Safari Tour.
