Tanzania Ngorongoro Safari Tours

Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve

You will leave Nairobi for Maasai Mara in the morning driving through the central highlands of Kenya. Enjoy the views and change of scenery as we drive to the South of Kenya. You will have a break along the way to marvel at the scenic views of the Great Rift valley. Continue to Maasai Mara arriving at your accommodation in time for lunch and some relaxation.

In the later afternoon, you will head out for your first game drive in the East African wilderness. Get ready to write your first tale. Look out for lions, elephants, hippos, wildebeests, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, leopards, cheetahs, black rhinos, roam antelopes, buffalos, genet cats among others.

Day 2: Whole day game drive in Maasai Mara National Reserve

An adventurous day out in the vast plains of Maasai Mara National Reserve. The Maasai Mara teems will an abundance of wildlife and birdlife and is also home to the annual wildebeest migration of which if you are in the park around June/July, you might get a chance to witness the natural event.

Set out for a full day game drive in the Maasai Mara with a packed lunch. The morning game drive will introduce you to the parks animals as they rise and hopefully some predator action as animals tend to be more active in the morning hours. You will have a picnic lunch out in the wilderness before driving. South towards the famous Mara river for great game viewing sightings. You will surely not miss the big Nile crocodiles.

Day 3: Transfer to Serengeti National Park

One more game drive in the Maasai Mara after breakfast as you exit the park driving further South to the Isebania border to cross into Tanzania and continue driving towards the famous Serengeti National park. This vast park is where the great wildebeest migration starts from before in goes to Maasai Mara in Kenya and back again.

You will stop to enjoy your lunch then drive towards your accommodation, check in and have a relaxing evening amidst the Serengeti plains.

Day 4: Full day exploration of Serengeti National Park

Game drives at different times of the day in the Serengeti will give you great game viewing opportunities. Early morning game drives for a chance to see the predators on an early morning hunting or feasting on their night kill and also getting to watch the other animals wake up to start their day. They are more active in the morning. Afternoon and evening games drives give you a change to catch the wildlife in large number at water points quenching their thirst, or spotting the elusive leopards up in the acacia trees or lions at the kopjes lazing around and taking shade from the hot sun.

If you are in the Serengeti in the migration period, luck on your side, you could witness the great migration in action. Millions of wildebeests, thousands of zebras and hundreds of other ungulates on the move following the rains to greener pastures. Dinner and overnight back at your accommodation.

Day 5: Drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

With an en-route game drive, exit Serengeti national park in the morning and drive towards Ngorongoro conservation area, a diverse wildlife and birdlife awaits you here and a stop at Olduvai Gorge, to learn a piece about human evolution. In about 3-4 hours, we shall arrive in Ngorongoro and take on a game drive around the crater rim and areas around Lake Ndutu teeming with wildlife.

Procced to your accommodation check in, have your lunch, set back and marvel at the beautiful landscapes of Ngorongoro. Send the rest of the day at the lodge relaxing and telling tales about your past days out in the wild.

Day 6: Descend into Ngorongoro Crater

A very early morning rise, have breakfast and drive to the largest caldera in the world, Ngorongoro crater. Before you descend 600 meters into the crater, look down upon this amazing wonder of nature, its beautiful lush habitants and imagine the abundance of wildlife that inhabit the “Garden of Eden”. Drive into the crater and take on the most amazing game drive in search of the animals that traverse the floor of the crater. Set your eyes of the lions, elephants, buffalos, black rhino, hippos, zebras, wildebeests, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, waterbucks, hyenas, flamingos at the crater lake, hornbills and more.

Have your picnic lunch near the Ngoitoktok springs in the company of hippos and lovely views. Ascend the crater and take a short Maasai village visit before retiring back to your accommodation for restful evening.

Day 7: To Arusha
